What is the Home Upgrade Grant?

The Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) is a funding programme aimed at helping people improve the energy efficiency of their homes. HUG is fully funded by the UK government and hence is FREE to you. The government has set aside £10.5m of funding for Staffordshire residents over a two-year period to March 2025.

This grant will fund energy efficiency measures such as insulation, low carbon heating measures or solar panels in homes that are heated by any means other than gas, without you paying anything. These improvements can make your home more energy efficient and help you save on energy bills.

Community Home Solutions has been chosen by Staffordshire County Council to help eligible residents access HUG2 funding and to manage the customer journey throughout the process. Our job is to make sure things run as smoothly as possible for you.

Wondering if you are eligible? You may qualify if;

Energy

• Your home is heated by any means other than gas; and
• Your home has an energy efficiency rating of EPC D, E, F or G (Please note that there is a limit on the number of D-rated homes we can support through the scheme).

Income

• Your gross annual household income is less than £31,000; or
• You live in a postcode approved off by your Local Authority; or
• A member of your household is in receipt on an eligible means tested benefit.

Ownership

• You own your property, or you rent from a private landlord.
